Why is it so special?
Angkor Wat meaning “City of Temples” is the largest Hindu temple complex in the world. Angkor Wat is also distinct in it’s beautiful architectural structures. The Angkor region is massive and covers more ground over all than modern day Paris. Angkor Wat served as a shrine, an observatory and a funeral temple. Angkor Wat took almost 32 full years to complete and by the time it was complete, it buried a significant figure to the construction of the temple. Angkor Wat was the biggest temple and place of significance to the Khmer tribe who once took over most of Southeast Asia. Angkor Wat is most famous for its significance of evolving the art of the Indian subcontinent into a whole new featuring art technique inscribed into the architectures of Angkor Wat.
